Responsibilities:

• Collecting data required for the preparation of reports to the charter entity and other appropriate bodies;

• Assists in publishing School’s Monthly Calendar.

• Maintains and utilizes the computerized student information system.

• Create and maintain campus student records, which include the updating and maintenance of both hard copy and online student records. Ensure dissemination of records to campuses, other school districts, central administration, and court ordered requests are accurate and within time frame allotted. Responsible for processing new student enrollments, student transfers, student withdrawals, and student graduation. Review and provide an assessment of instructional placement on new enrollments to the appropriate campus personnel.

• Records electronic files for storage, such as daily backup copies or copies for transmittal.

• Prepares attendance reports and reconciles manual and computer reports monthly

• Sends correspondence to parents to advise them of excessive absences according to established policies and procedures.

• Maintains records of student suspensions, student withdrawal from school, record of reasons for student withdrawal and students' plans and prepares periodic statistical reports

• Prepares and/or maintains various files, and reports exceptional children being served by school as it relates to the student information system.

The Instructional Coach/CRT is responsible for: 

Assessing needs

Teachers may assess student learning abilities by observing data and creating

tests. They may also assess the needs of learners and society. 

Developing training modules

Teachers may develop training modules, instructional materials, and assessment

tools. They may also adapt existing curriculum to meet students' needs. 

Conducting Inservice education programs

Teachers may plan, deliver, and present Inservice classes for subject areas. They may

also encourage and orient new teachers to the district's instructional programs. 

Facilitating committee work

Teachers may collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to design Individualized

Education Programs (IEPs). They may also plan and prepare for IEP and parent

meetings. 

Performing demonstration teaching

Teachers may provide demonstration lessons and instructional coaching. They may also

assist classroom teachers with individualized plans and tools so they can provide

specific classroom instruction. 

Creating safe learning environments

Teachers may work to create safe and nurturing learning environments that support the

unique developmental needs of children. They may also use specialized materials,

equipment, and assistive technology for individuals with disabilities. 

Additionally, the Instructional Coach/CRT assists in conducting needs assessments

related to their assigned area. Design instructional materials and sample lessons

consistent with program area of emphasis or grant requirements as appropriate.

Conducts demonstration teaching units for replication purposes.

The SPED Coordinator coordinates curriculum, services, and resources for the special needs students at Elite Charter Academy to ensure that they have the academic and social-emotional support services they need in order to achieve their highest potential. The responsibilities of the SPED Coordinator include:

• Oversee the mental and behavioral health care services for all students with

• IEPs/504 plans

• Ensure appropriate delivery of both special education instruction and related services as stipulated on IEPs/504 plans

• Ensure compliance by the school with all local and Federal laws and regulation related to students with IEPs/504 plans and students referred to special education

• Facilitate IEP meetings using a strengths-based and family-centered approach

• Identify students who should be assessed to determine eligibility for special education

• Oversee case management services for students and families requiring multiple

Resources. Communicate to parents and guardians the special education process including process for referrals, evaluations, annual IEPs/504 plans, and re-evaluations.

• Maintain and enrichtheir expertise in the subjectarea they will teach;

• Develop lesson plans that ensure the attainment of state learning standards and the additional specific grade-­‐by-­‐grade learning standards set forth in the charter;

• Support ISL’s Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) through “pushing in” to the classroom as well as “pulling-out” students in small group or individually for interventions

• Coordinate lesson plans with other teachers to maximize possibilities for teaching similar topics in the same general time frame, thus reinforcing student knowledge on an interdisciplinary basis;

• Provide direct and indirect instruction;

• Long and short-­‐term planning addressing individual needs of students;

• Prepare students adequately for all required assessments;

• Evaluate students’ progress;

• Prepare at least quarterly individual student achievement reports for parents;

• Provide an inviting, exciting, innovative, learning environment;

• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff;

• Serve as an advisor to students, including organizing advisory groups, overseeing the academic and behavioral progress;

• Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Principal.

Paraprofessionals, also known as teaching assistants, have a variety of duties in the classroom. They often work with teachers to help students learn, manage the classroom, and provide administrative support:

Instructional assistance

Paraprofessionals can work with students one-on-one to reinforce lessons, answer questions, and help them learn specific concepts. They can also lead small-group discussions and co-teach lesson components with the teacher.

Classroom management

Paraprofessionals can help enforce classroom rules and positive behavior, and supervise students during recess, lunch, and on field trips. They can also help students with personal care tasks like diapering, toileting, and shoe-tying.

Administrative support

Paraprofessionals can help teachers with clerical duties like grading tests and homework, tracking attendance, and making copies. They can also help teachers prepare for class by getting materials and equipment ready.

Other duties

Paraprofessionals can also help students with special education needs, assist with language translation, and help students and teachers with extracurricular activities and school functions.

• Organizing the classroom and teaching materials, monitoring the classroom during lessons, and minimizing distractions and disruptions.

• Supervise students both in a classroom and outside the classroom such as at recess or on field trips. Help minimize classroom disruptions.

The School Custodian is responsible for keeping the school's buildings, equipment, and furnishings clean and safe for students to learn in. They perform a variety of duties, including:

• Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming floors, dusting furniture, walls, and equipment, and cleaning windows, mirrors, and partitions

• Trash: Emptying trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal

• Restrooms: Scrubbing, sanitizing, and supplying restroom facilities

• Maintenance: Changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles, and ensuring proper care of equipment and supplies

• Preparation: Ensuring spaces are prepared for the next day by tidying furniture, taking out trash, and dusting surfaces

• Safety: Making sure the building is safe for students, including checking for leaks, broken rooms, and making sure classrooms arelocked during emergencies.

Custodians may also assist with loading and unloading supplies, and work with other members of the custodial team to ensure everything needed for cleaning is stocked and ready. They may also need to follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
