School Nurse Services

1. Introduction
Elite Academy is seeking qualified nursing professionals or agencies to provide school-based nursing services for the 2026–2027 academic year. All services must comply with the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE), BESE regulations, and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) standards governing school health services.
2. Scope of Work
The selected provider will deliver comprehensive nursing services, including:

Medication administration in accordance with Louisiana R.S. 17:436.1 and LDOE guidelines

Emergency medication administration (epinephrine, albuterol, glucagon, seizure rescue meds, naloxone)
-
Development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), IEP health components, and Section 504 health plans
-
Delegation and supervision of nursing tasks to trained unlicensed school personnel
-
Health screenings, documentation, and state‑required reporting
-
Maintenance of confidential student health records
-
Participation in emergency preparedness and communicable disease management
-
Collaboration with families, staff, and external healthcare providers
3. Minimum Qualifications
In accordance with BESE Bulletin 746, a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Louisiana is considered a certified school nurse.
Required Qualifications

Current, valid Louisiana RN license in good standing
-
CPR/BLS certification
-
Knowledge of LDOE School-Based Nursing Services Handbook
-
Ability to supervise LPNs and unlicensed personnel under LSBN delegation rules
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in pediatric, community, or school nursing
-
Experience managing chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders)
-
Experience in private or nonpublic school settings
4. Deliverables
The selected provider must supply:

Daily on‑site nursing coverage (schedule determined by Elite Academy)
-
Monthly health service activity reports
-
Documentation of all medications administered and emergency responses
-
Compliance with all LDOE-required forms and procedures
-
Participation in school meetings, parent conferences, and crisis response as needed

6. Evaluation Criteria

7. Contract Term
The contract will cover the 2026–2027 school year, with the option for annual renewal based on performance and school needs.
